104110. Althea Gibson Reception. August 21, 1957. WNYC, New York City. Althea Gibson is welcomed to New York City just after he first victory at the Wimbledon tournament. This reception followed a ticker-tape parade. Mayor Wagner presents her with a medal and mentions that she was born and raised in New York City. Actually, Ms. Gibson was from South Carolina. The ceremony is complete, but there is no announcer intro or closing. The program title is subject to correction.
