109638. Amos 'n' Andy: Anatomy Of A Controversy. 1983. Telefeatures Corporation syndication, audio + color video. Commercials added locally. A documentary made-for-TV about the history of Amos 'n' Andy, primarily on television. Illustrated with many excerpts from the TV show, from the film "Check and Double Check," from an Amos 'n' Andy sound cartoon ("The Lion Tamer") and with contemporary interviews. The production is a bit sloppy (a dog barking, people moving into frame during interviews), but the subject matter is fascinating. Excellent videotape quality. George Kirby (host, narrator), Michael Avery (executive producer), Bob Greenberg (writer, producer), Stanley Sheff (director), Rich Correll (son of Charles Correll), Alvin Childress, Ernestine Wade, Marla Gibbs (of the series "The Jefferesons"), Red Foxx, Henry Lee Moon (director of public relations for the NAACP, 1947 to 1976), Jesse Jackson. 54:32. Audio condition: Excellent. Otherwise complete.
