94886. Count Basie and His Orchestra and Guy Lombardo and His Orchestra. 1966. A dual band concert from the Doral Hotel and Country Club, Miami. The first tune is, "Boo Hoo." Not a broadcast. This is a unique chance to heard Lombardo's guys swing out and Basie playing it sweet. After "Take The A Train," Jackie Gleason (in the audience) can be heard shouting, "How Sweet It Is." Phil Napoleon leads, "The Saints" with a very Lombardo-like sound. The recording concludes with Jackie Gleason (now on stage) introducing both bands playing, "South Rampart Street Parade." Count Basie and His Orchestra, Guy Lombardo and The Royal Canadians, Carmen Lombardo (vocal), Jackie Gleason, Phil Napoleon, Alan King (briefly), Joe Williams (vocal). 54:34. Audio condition: Very good. Complete.
