110202. Dobbsie's Exercise and Applesauce. 1934. Program #25. C.P. MacGregor syndication. "Captain Dobbsie" conducts a cheerful morning exercise, accompanied on the piano by "Bill." The "Applesauce" presumably refers to the corny jokes that Dobbsie tells between exercises. Captain Dobbsie was a well-know radio performer in the San Francisco area. He began doing exercise programs on KPO (San Francisco) in 1926. The 1934 date above is just a guess, based on the design of the 12" transcription. Matrix #TR1456. Hugh Barrett Dobbs, William Hancock (pianist). 12:43. Audio condition: Excellent. Apparently complete.

110203. Dobbsie's Exercise and Applesauce. 1934. Program #26. C.P. MacGregor syndication. Captain Dobbsie refers to his pianist as, "Wee Willie Hancock." Dobbsie and "Wee Willie" seem to having a lot of fun. Why not? "No one's listening!" Matrix #TR1457. Hugh Barrett Dobbs, William Hancock (pianist). 12:28. Audio condition: Excellent. Apparently complete.
