78131. Earl Johnson. June 23, 1945. Sustaining. Marine Corps Sergeant Bill Ross interviews Earl Johnson, who had flown over Tokyo in a B-29. Lieutenant Johnson is described as a "Marine Censor" on the Don Pryor broadcast of June 23, 1945 (see cat. #18997). Johnson describes the devastation he saw and mentions that the Japanese tried to jam the Don Pryor broadcast while it was going on. He says, "There are no foxholes at 20,000 feet."
