The German Generals may be going to give Hitler an ultimatum to surrender. There is surprisingly little Japanese resistance on Okinawa. The new manpower control bill, promoted by President Roosevelt, has been defeated. Mr. Lewis marvels that Roosevelt has limited the U.S. to only one vote at the San Francisco Conference while Russia has three votes and Great Britain has six! Mr. Lewis analyzes the "denunciation" by Russia, of the Russo-Japanese non-agression pact. General Patton is 162 miles from Berlin. There's a "stay-away" being held by the miner's union. The government is threatening to seize the mines. Mr. Lewis concludes with comments about new paper allocations to printers, and has a wry outlook on the printing of the notice itself.
