102153. Governor Leverett Saltonstall. November 3, 1944. Blue net, KQV, Pittsburgh aircheck. 8:30 P.M. A paid political announcement by the Governor of Massachusetts on behalf of Thomas Dewey. The program originates from the Municipal Auditorium, Springfield, Massachusetts. Also heard is Representative Leonard Hall (New York); originating from somewhere else. Mr. Hall interestingly speaks about the two Vice-Presidential candidates (Bricker and Truman) and the possibility that they may be called on to lead the country. It's a none-too-flattering portrait of Mr. Truman's early political career. The unasked question is, "Is this who you want to lead the country if Roosevelt dies in office?" The first 20:18 of the program. Leverett Saltonstall, Leonard Hall. 20:18. Audio condition: Excellent. Incomplete.
